Rudolfinská akademie je dvouleté rekvalifikační studium pro obor starožitník. Přednášky probíhají od září do června v prostorách v centru Prahy.

The AS ČR is authorized to issue a qualification certificate with national validity conformably with the regulations of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of CR and offers these forms of studies:

  1. A two-year qualification and re-qualification course
  2. A two-year professional course (without re-qualification)

These forms of studies are targeted to the owners of and employees in antiquity shops, employees in museums, galleries and care of historical monuments, collectors and other persons concerned.

The fundamental subjects are History of Arts, History of Applied Arts, Connoisseurship, Collecting, Depository of antiquities and their protection, marketing, management and related legislature.

Two-year qualification course with re-qualification

The course is organised in the form of professional lectures, completed with workshops to revise the subject matter by means of videoprograms and professional field trips to museum collections.

  • 1st year is terminated by an individual examination on the History of Arts
  • 2nd year is terminated by a commissional examination on 70 questions and by a defense of the final paper

Two-year professional course (without re-qualification)

The course is organised in the form of professional lectures, completed with workshops to revise the subject matter by means of videoprograms and professional field trips to museum collections.

  • 1st year is terminated by an individual examination on the History of Arts
  • 2nd year is terminated by a commissional examination on 30 questions and by a defense of the final paper

School fees

School fees for both course types are:

  • for members of the AS and for students 7 000,– CZK
  • for others 9 000,– CZK

Lectures

Lectures of both course types are held:

  • twice a month 4 hours in the afternoon from 15.00 to 18.00 (Wednesdays)
  • once a month 8 hours always on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 15:30 namely for attendants living out of Prague

The actual time schedule of lectures shall be submitted to attendants at the beginning of their studies.

The lectures are held at Domě ABF, Václavské náměstí 31, Praha 1.

In the above-stated price there are included the cost of rent for classrooms, lecturers´ salaries, field trips etc.

March Romanticism and Historicism of Painting and Sculpture. Development of furniture from the point of view of typology, construction, ornamentation method.
April Architecture of 19th and 20th centuries. Survey of History of Goldworks and Jewellery.
May Art Collections. Galleries and museums. Care of Historical Monuments. Oriental carpets.
June The Monuments of Prague (optional lectures) Historical weapons.
